  • 1-2 tbsp. mirin
  • 1/4 cup shoyu
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
  • 1 inch of ginger, peeled and minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pound Alaskan Black Cod fillets
  • 3 tbsp. coconut oil or peanut oil

Combine mirin, shoyu, garlic, ginger and water.  Cut fish fillets into 4 ounce pieces. Pour marinade on top of fish fillets and marinate 35 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator. Heat a skillet with coconut oil or peanut oil. Place cod into the skillet flesh side down and cook on medium/high heat 5-7 minutes. Flip the fish and cook 5-7 minutes on opposite side. Put marinade used for fish into a small sauce pan. Cook on a high heat until reduced by 1/2. Drizzle marinade on top of cooked cod pieces.
