- 4 firm apples, cored and cut in half
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
- 2 tbsp. raisins
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- Dash of ground cloves
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar (or other sugar)
- 2 tbsp. grass-fed butter
Preheat oven to 350°. Place apple halves, flesh side up, into a 9×12 baking dish. If the apple does not sit flat in the pan, slice a small piece of the apple skin off to make a flat surface.
Combine walnuts, raisins, honey, cinnamon, cloves, sugar and butter. Put a dollop or two of walnut, honey butter mixture on top of each apple half. Bake apples, covered, for 15-20 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking for an additional 20 minutes.
Place apple onto individual plates and drizzle with sauce from the baking pan.
