Are you using Gotu Kola?

Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) is a plant that is highly revered in both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for its ability to lengthen life and enhance cognitive function.

Many folks worry about brain health as they age, so this is a superb herb to add into your diet if you plan on sticking around for a while.

According to modern medical science, “Gotu Kola contains certain chemicals that seem to decrease inflammation and also decrease blood pressure in the veins.”[1]

Gotu Kola is also considered an adaptogen that rejuvenates the nervous system and helps reduce anxiety and stress, which of course, helps you live longer, healthier and happier.

So, how do you get this longevity-enhancing plant into your diet?

If you can find it fresh, simply enjoy the raw leaves in salad or cook them into sauces like a gotu kola pesto or gotu kola chimichurri – yum!

One of my favorite ways to get this plant into my diet is in a cup of tea. It’s easy to find the dried plant in most herb stores, and online at Starwest Botanicals.

You can drink gotu kola on it’s own, or combine it with other herbs, too.

Below is a tea blend that supports the mind, kidneys, heart, and bones and joints. And, if all of that is in good working order, it can contribute to a long, happy and healthy life…  all you gotta do is start drinking it!

Enjoy a cup of this Long Life Tea!
